Walk Details:

Among the crumbling streets, narrow alleys and the hippiest cafes and bars lies the New Delhi’s historic Hauz Khas Village (HKV). The vibe and the artistic culture emanates from it’s surroundings.

In the village lies a water tank, an Islamic seminary, a mosque, a tomb and pavilions built around an urbanized village with medieval history traced to the 13th century of Delhi Sultanate reign. Today it hosts more than 40 designer stores and good number of Art galleries, coffee shops, bars and restaurants.

Activity in Hauz Khas hummed along through the 1990s and the Village, with a deer park, water reservoir and crumbling monuments, has been well-loved for its mid-city sense of seclusion. It’s a beloved place among musicians, designers, travelers, foodies, readers of journals and little books, art and poster-collectors, map makers, social activists and the Delhi LGBT community who have set up homes and shops here.

The walk takes you through the historic monuments and the narrow colorful, lively lanes of the village where you can eat, drink and shop.
